About Our Instructors

Hello, my name is Lori Yearwood. I am one of the Founders of and Instructors for StoryToGo. As a group, we are Storytellers, Artists, Media Creators, Technologists, and Educators. We all love sharing our knowledge and experience, to help others make their dreams a reality.

In recent years, I have been creating award winning web series and documentaries, building storyworlds, and teaching yoga. That is just part of my story. For a tease to a little bit more of it, I am also a children's writer, book author, dancer, and a mom.

Defining Your Story

One of the biggest hurdles in developing and sharing your story - whether for personal branding, business, or traditional storytelling - is in defining what the story is that you are trying to share and ensuring that it meets your goals. This mini-course walks you through that process.

Write & Code Interactive Stories

Contrary to popular belief, it is possible for any of us to write and create beautifully illustrated stories complete with animated characters, music and sound effects. In addition to that, these stories can be interactive with clickable features. Cue the online platform, Elementari.  Their mission promotes arts, literacy, and computational thinking in an engaging and collaborative way; pulling a community of artists, musicians and writer together. They want anyone, especially kids, to be able to write and code interactive stories. Throughout this course, our instructor Lori, will guide you through video tutorials on how to use the exciting features of Elementari so you will be able to complete your very own book!

Relaxing Yoga with Lori

Movement, screen breaks, and mindfulness are key to our health and for our minds to function effectively to learn, create, and be productive. As such, Lori Yearwood has created this free class, so that StoryToGo student can take a break from their studies to stretch, breath, and relax.

Mindfulness Strategies

To learn effectively and be creative, we need to be able to free our minds of the stresses of daily life. To help with that Lori Yearwood has created this free class for StoryToGo students, teaching mindfulness strategies to let go of anxieties and be present in the moment.

Media Literacy

'Two Truths and a Lie Online' is an online course designed for young adults to encourage them to critically evaluate online resources so that they can be both an informed consumer and producer of digital content.

This course was created by a group of UBC Master of Educational Technology students, as an open educational resource for other instructors to utilize in their classrooms with their student.
